Robber takes taxi to Home Depot
A man suspected of robbing a Southern California Home Depot arrived in a taxi and then fled the scene in the same cab, according to an article in the Orange County Register.
Cody Ramey, 31, walked up to a cashier in the garden center of a Home Depot in Santa Ana and presented a note demanding money, police said. The clerk complied with his directions to fill an orange cloth bag with cash, according to the article. The suspect then left the garden center and climbed into the waiting taxi.
Store employees wrote down the vehicle’s license plate number. Police were able to locate the cab a short time later and take Ramey into custody. Authorities identified him as a homeless man from Ohio.
