Republicans take the Senate, Wolf wins in Pa.
On a night when the Republican Party earned a majority in the Senate, and expanded their majority in the House of Representatives, candidates with deep ties to the home improvement and building material industry had mixed results.
In the Pennsylvania race for governor, Democratic Party challenger Tom Wolf defeated Republican incumbent Tom Corbett. Wolf is the former chief of WOLF, distributor of kitchen cabinets and other building materials based in York, Pennsylvania.
And up in the Minnesota’s eighth congressional district, Mills Fleet Farm VP Stewart Mills lost his bid to unseat Democratic incumbent Rick Nolan. Mills had used his retail know-how in his campaign messages.
Election night brought a bounty to the Republican Party, which took six Democratic-held seats to take a controlling majority in the Senate. It also expanded its majority in the House.
