Reports: Paul Ramsay becomes Lowe's CIO

2/20/2018

Paul Ramsay has been named chief information officer at Lowe's following the departure of Kevin Summers earlier this month, according to multiple media sources.

Summers was only with the home improvement retailer for two years, but specific reasons for his departure were unknown. Lowe's spokeswoman Chris Ahearn told multiple sources that the move was not related to a data breach like the one Target had, costing Target CIO Beth Jacob her job.

In his new role, Ramsay will be responsible for the company's IT operations and the development of Lowe's technology platforms.

Ramsay, who was previously serving as SVP U.S. home improvement and SVP IT infrastucture & operations before that, has been with the company since 2011. In his former role, he was responsible for all technology services and omnichannel platforms. Before joining Lowe's, he worked for Hess Corporation for 15 years, most recently as VP global infrastucture.

Lowe's has not released any official statements regarding Summers' departure or Ramsay's promotion.
