REPORT: Yard changing hands in Iowa
Superior Lumber, the three-unit pro dealer based in Charles City, Iowa, is exiting its location in Clear Lake.
But Woodford Lumber & Home Co. appears to be the buyer of the property, according to a report by the Global Gazette.
Superior owner Heidi Mehmen, who owns the business with her husband Paul, said the location has been sold. Mehmen also told the Global Gazette that the yard had become more “liability than asset” and the right opportunity had come along.
The dealer also operates locations in Charles City and New Hampton, Iowa.
June 21 will be the last day of operations for Superior in Clear Lake. Then Superior plans to move its inventory to its Charles City location with the new Clear Lake owner taking over by June 28.
