Stockfish previously served as the company’s senior vice president of timberlands before being named as the successor of Doyle Simmons nearly a year ago. Doyle stepped down as CEO at the start of 2019 and served as a special advisor until this past April.
According to Stockfish, technology has a firm role at Weyerhaeuser.
The Seattle, Wa.-based company is not only using tech in its manufacturing processes, but also in monitoring and preventing wildfires – an issue that has become more and more prevalent on the West Coast in recent years.
While Weyerhaeuser has settled into a new headquarters in Seattle, the company is using the urban location to help attract tech job candidates and promoting that there are plenty of growth opportunities for future employees – especially in its use of technology.
