Some categories lend themselves well to online sales. Others don’t. HBSDealer recently sought to shed light on those categories that work better than others in the physical store environment.

A recent HBSDealer poll question asked: “What category is most conducive to in-store (as opposed to online) purchases?” Readers were allowed to select up to two answers. Here's the percentage breakdown of the results:

Paint 30%
Plumbing 15%
Flooring 14%
L&G 12%
Appliances 11%
Fasteners 7%
Electrical 6%
Power tools 4%
Workwear 2%
