Poll Results: Which niche is rich?

Independent retailers have heard for years about the opportunities that await them in various successfully executed niche categories. But which categories bring the biggest bang for buck.

In so many words, that was the question we put to HBSDealer readers in the latest weekly poll. Specifically, we asked: Which home-improvement-retailing specialty niche has the highest growth potential? 

The leading response was "Smart home" (48%), followed by Pet products (22%). Here are the results:
