HBSDealer asked readers; "How has your business embraced the Smart Home movement?" More than half (57%) revealed some level of involvement, and more than 10% embraced the movement to a large extent.
After more than 60 votes, here are the results:
• "To a small extent," 46%.
• "Not at all," 43%;
• "To a large extent," 11%.
Across the industry, experts say it is getting easier for homeowners to stay connected to their homes. And manufacturers say their products make it easier for homeowners to install and use. The National Hardware Show will present its first-ever Interactive Smart Home exhibit in Las Vegas May 7-9, which is evidence of the bona fides of this home improvement trend.
Security and lighting controls are at the forefront of the smart-home movement, but the trend extends throughout to various degrees. According to Statista, the global smart home market is forecast to reach a value of more than $53 billion by 2022.
