Poll question: Toward taller wood buildings

7/23/2018
The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association advocates for Taller Wooden Buildings. The association writes in its National Policy Agenda: “The flexibility of wood makes it an ideal building material for earthquake safety and high wind requirements.”

The association supports building codes that allow for the construction of wood frame buildings that are more than six stories.

Recently, construction of a 12-story wood building in Portland, Ore., was put on hold, owing to construction costs.

How do you feel about the likelihood of a movement toward taller wood buildings? This week’s poll question is open for votes on the right side of this page (or scroll down your mobile device.)
