Poll question: Housing starts forecast?
With a strong surge in December, total-housing-starts finished the year at an estimated 1,249,900.
That means 21.5% of readers at the beginning of 2019 accurately predicted 2019 housing starts would finish in the range of 1.2 million to 1.3 million. That’s very good.
Plus, 55% of readers accurately predicted housing starts would finish the year between 1.1 and 1.4 million. That’s not bad.
The National Association of Home Builders was also pretty close. At the beginning of last year, the association released a forecast of 1.27 million.
