Poll Question: E-mail overdose

4/4/2018
In the modern 24-hours-a day, seven-days-a-week, always-on business environment, the lines between work and leisure have been blurred. Employees routinely receive and respond to e-mails from their bosses after quitting time. Conversely, employees routinely shop for socks during business hours.

Into this paradigm shift, the City Council in New York City has thrust itself. According to an article from CNN, a Brooklyn city council member has introduced the “Disconnecting from Work” bill. Among its provisions are potential fines for employers who push e-mails beyond an as-yet-unclear maximum.

What’s your take on the idea of fines for excessive e-mails? Take the poll to the right.
