Policeman reprimanded for Lowe’s incident
The Florida Times-Union reported that an off-duty police officer abused his authority in an incident at a Lowe’s store in Jacksonville, Fla.
The officer, Darin Bickle, became irate when the store would not repair his pressure washer under warranty. An internal affairs investigation found that Bickle behaved inappropriately when he identified himself as a police officer and acted in an intimidating manner, speaking in a loud voice and using derogatory terms toward the assistant store manager and other Lowe’s employees. He eventually left the store without getting his pressure washer repaired.
Bickle was given a written reprimand.
