Police arrest “trio of lugheads”

In its signature style, the New York Post reported the arrest of three individuals outside a Staten Island Home Depot on Aug. 11 for allegedly stealing $1,300 worth of tools.

The “trio of lugheads” was caught on surveillance video emptying merchandise from a box with a $50 price tag and then filling it with assorted tools.

Michael Mastellone, 40, Scot Petie, 41, and Darnel Robertson, 41, took the box to the register, paid $50, and were then arrested in the parking lot of the Veterans Road store, according to police, who also recovered stolen cosmetics in the suspects’ minivan.

All three were charged with grand larceny.
