Paul Menard will bring sponsorship to Yates Racing
Paul Menard, the NASCAR-racing son of Menards owner John Menard Jr., will join the Yates Racing team starting next year, according to a statement from the organization.
Menard will depart his current spot at Dale Earnhardt Inc. to join the Yates Racing team, home of other well-known drivers including Travis Kvapil and David Gilliland.
The primary sponsor of Menard’s car is, of course, the retailer Menards. Paul Menard will bring the sponsorship with him to Yates Racing.
"This is a great opportunity, and I'm glad to be joining the Yates Racing organization next season," Paul Menard said in a statement. “I'm excited to be a part of their future and excited to work with Travis and David." Menard currently is 28th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup championship standings.
Menards has been a longtime supporter and sponsor of racing, and John Menard himself has been a vocal fan of the sport, in NASCAR and in other racing series. Other drivers with Menards racing are Matt Crafton, who drives in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series; Robby Gordon, driver for Robby Gordon Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series; and Ed Carpenter of VISION Racing, with the Indy Racing League.
