Pacific Lifestyle is building again
Pacific Lifestyle, a regional home builder based in Portland, Ore., has announced it will resume construction in seven communities after a six-month hiatus. After filing for a Chapter 11 reorganization plan last October, the company has focused on selling existing inventory through liquidation sales, primarily via NewHomeSale.org, according to the home builder’s press release. The company jettisoned 50 homes starting last fall, bringing in some much needed capital. More existing inventory will also be sold in the same way, the company said.
Abankruptcy court ruling on April 14 cleared the way for Pacific Lifestyle to begin construction immediately in its communities in Woodland, Ridgefield, Vancouver and Washougal, Wash., as well as Happy Valley, Lafayette and Salem, Ore.
Founded in 1996, Pacific Lifestyle has built 2,000 homes through the greater Portland area. From 2004 to 2008, the company closed 1,292 homes. In 2008, that number fell to 135.
