In order to address regulatory concerns on a previously announced joint venture agreement, Owens Corning will sell two composite manufacturing plants in Belgium and Norway.
Owens Corning, the Toledo, Ohio-based maker of fiber glass building materials, entered into a joint venture with Paris-based Saint-Gobain and its reinforcement and composites business, known as Vetrotex.
The plants are located in Battice, Belgium and Birkeland, Norway.
Owens Corning also announced it is in active discussions with Saint-Gobain on possibly acquiring outright the Saint-Gobain Vetrotex business.
If the company does decide to acquire the Vetrotex business, the sale of the two plants is still expected to go forward.
