Owens Corning expands Brazilian operations
Toledo, Ohio-based building products manufacturer Owens Corning has announced it has added glass fiber knitting equipment at its facility in Rio Claro, northwest of Sao Paulo in Brazil.
The addition has doubled the facility’s fiberglass-making capacity.
"This latest expansion to our fabric knitting capacity highlights our strategy to support market growth and emphasizes our commitment to help our Latin America customers grow and succeed both locally and globally," said Beth Rettig, technical fabrics general manager, Americas.
According to the company, demand for fiberglass technical fibers is up due to a growing demand for wind power in the region, as well as abroad.
