Owens Corning appoints head of Asia-Pacific group
Owens Corning, a global manufacturer of residential and commercial building materials, has appointed Daniel Zhang VP and managing director of the Asia-Pacific Building Materials group, effective immediately. Zhang will be based in Shanghai, China.
In this role, Zhang will drive Owens Corning's expansion in the region and execute strategies that grow the company's market presence in the building materials industry. He will also be responsible for ensuring that the company delivers innovation to its customers.

Most recently Zhang was president of the Asia-Pacific automotive and international trade groups at Leggett & Platt. Prior, he was executive director of South China Operations at Lear Corp. He has also held management positions at companies such as PepsiCo International and Johnson & Johnson.
Zhang has a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and a master's of business administration in system engineering. He is fluent in English and Chinese.
Owens Corning's Building Materials group includes insulation, roofing and asphalt, masonry products and construction services businesses. The company operates manufacturing facilities in China, Japan, Korea and India.
