Olympia clamps down on cancer
Attendees at the 2013 National Hardware Show in Las Vegas will have the chance to put test a vise grip will contributing to a worthy charity in a program called “Clamping Down on Cancer.”
The 5-in. Ultra Quick Adjust vise will be pitted against a regular vise in a friendly competition for charity. Olympia Tools will donate $100 to City of Hope for cutting-edge cancer research in the name of anyone who participates in the vice "race.”
Olympia Tools' new Quick Adjust vise has several innovative features, whether for use in the garage or on the job site. The vise comes with a set of four replaceable jaws for a variety of applications. A quick-release button unclamps the jaws in a fraction of a second. The heavy-duty base turns effortlessly on a 360-degree swivel, while the durable anvil surface is excellent for hammering raw material into shape. Taken together, these features push the tried and true workshop vise into new territory.
"This year's National Hardware Show is a big stage, so we're excited to take the opportunity to promote not only our great line of products, but also a great cause: City of Hope,” said Olympia Tools' Tony Lee, VP sales and marketing. “We invite anyone attending the show to stop by our booth and get some hands-on experience with our Quick Adjust Vise, all while raising money for City of Hope's breakthrough medical research."
City of Hope is a nationally recognized Comprehensive Cancer Center focused on creating new therapies for chronic disease. Olympia Tools hopes to raise $10,000 for City of Hope's cancer research initiatives.
“As City of Hope continues to work diligently to find cures and new innovative treatments for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases, it is the philanthropy of companies like Olympia Tools and its associates and customers that provide the funding for our research. Your support will help our scientists and physicians quickly translate laboratory treatments into ground-breaking discoveries,” said Al Olson, senior director of development, City of Hope.
The "Clamping Down on Cancer" event will take place at Olympia Tools' booth (#5941 in Central Hall) on Tuesday, May 7, between 2 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
