Nuts and Bolts Hardware to open third location

2/20/2018

Nuts and Bolts Hardware, a member of the True Value co-op, will open a new location Feb. 4 in Arlington, Texas, co-owner Brian Richards told HCN.

This will be the third Nuts and Bolts location to open in the last six months. The company also has stores in Overland Park, Kan., and Independence, Mo. The new, 28,000-square-foot store is located two miles south of the Dallas Cowboys’ new stadium in what Richards calls a “booming” area.

Nuts and Bolts Hardware is owned by former Westlake Ace Hardware executives Richards and Scott Westlake. Their stores are based on the Destination True Value format, which emphasizes small projects and offers a broad product selection in core hardware categories that can be adapted to the needs of the individual store.

“We are located in the center section of Arlington with a lot of homes that were built in the 1950s, ’60s, ’70s  and ’80s,” Richards said. “Good demographics.”

Richards, the company president, spent more than 30 years with Westlake -- a 90-store chain with stores in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico -- before partnering with Scott Westlake, the grandson of Westlake Ace’s founder.
