New from Valspar: AskVal.com

2/20/2018

Valspar has thrown open the curtains on its latest endeavor, an interactive consumer resource called AskVal.com.

The interface offers customers a means to explore color through a collection of complementary tools to guide the selection process. This includes the first-of-its-kind Valspar Pinterest Analyzer, free expert design advice, photo color matching, color personality quiz and free paint chip delivery.

"This cutting edge website was developed as an extension of a core brand belief in helping consumers make a change for the better," said Heidi Petz, vice president of marketing for Valspar North America Consumer Division. "We want to inspire and empower people to take on paint projects, big or small, and remind them that doing it yourself doesn't mean doing it alone. Valspar is here to help throughout the entire painting process, starting with choosing the right color."

The features within take their cues from high-style industries like fashion and cosmetics, and the mobile-first site helps streamline the color selection process.

Customers can take a personality quiz to help zero in on colors that suit their personalities, or draw directly from their Pinterest boards using the Pinterest Analyzer, which turns a user's pins into palettes by identifying the highest-trending colors.

"Pinterest is a frequent first stop for DIY-ers seeking project ideas, so this partnership was a natural fit and an integral part of the AskVal.com platform," said Petz. "We're thrilled to have partnered with the Pinterest team to create a completely unique experience for Valspar customers."

Shoppers can also avail themselves of complimentary online color consultations with Valspar's expert color consultants, who can recommend a variety of personalized color palettes based on the customer's specific project needs, design tastes and color preferences.

AskVal.com also provides free paint chip delivery. "We are proud to be the first in the industry to offer this service to consumers. Projects often feel daunting enough, and we want to help streamline the decision-making process any way we can," said Petz.
