New Lowe’s prompts soul searching in SF

Construction has begun on a new Lowe’s store in San Francisco, the first home improvement retail warehouse to be located within city limits. Residents are divided over whether the new store -- built in a spot Home Depot vacated after battling community groups for more than a decade -- is good for the neighborhood.

“The scale is so big, you can probably see it from space,” commented one citizen interviewed by the San Francisco Chronicle.
