New leadership at Mohawk

Mohawk Industries, one of the flooring industry’s leading manufacturers, has appointed W. Christopher Wellborn as its new president. Wellborn, who has held the position of chief operating officer since 2005, will continue in that position. Previous to the COO job, Wellborn served as president of Dal-Tile, Mohawk’s ceramic and stone products business.

Commenting on the announcement, Jeffrey Lorberbaum, Mohawk’s chairman and CEO, praised Wellborn for “his role as chief operating officer as we transitioned from a carpet manufacturer to a total flooring business, including carpet, rugs, ceramic, laminate, stone, wood and vinyl products. He has contributed to improving the company's strategic initiatives, organization structure, personnel development and execution in this role."
