National Lumber promotes turn-key management

3/11/2019
National Lumber has promoted Maykon “Mike” Oliveira to project executive of turn-key framing.

Since joining National Lumber in November 2010, Olivera has been with the Turn-Key Framing Division, starting as project manager, then senior project manager. His duties have included assisting the vice president of Turn-Key framing, managing complex projects, and developing project managers and administrative support people. He also oversaw the implementation of new state-of-the-art software, Procore and PlanGrid, which increased the division’s efficiency.

Oliveira will report directly to Edward DeFanti, vice president of turn-key framing.

Before joining National Lumber, Olivera was one of the owners of Bovere Builders, LLC in the Greater Boston area. During his 20-years’ experience in the construction industry he has had the opportunity to work with industry leaders across the New England states.

Mike’s hands-on experience as a builder informs his leadership in the Turn-Key Framing Division. He holds a 1C/2A hoisting license as well as being VSI Certified (Vinyl Siding Institute) and OSHA 30 Certified. In addition to his technical skills, Mike is fluent in Portuguese, which has helped him to collaborate well with Portuguese speaking construction workers and subcontractors throughout his career.

During a period when National Lumber took ownership of 11 unfinished houses due to the bankruptcy of a builder, Olivera took charge of completing the building project, enabling National Lumber to sell the homes fully completed.

Olivera has also been instrumental in serving developers, owners, and builders who specialize in large wood frame projects, such as hotels and motels, multi-unit residential facilities, and other large commercial projects, the pro dealer said. National Lumber now covers the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and California.

Based in Mansfield, Mass., National Lumber operates 9 retail lumberyards in New England, 7 Kitchen View showrooms, and 12 Benjamin Moore paint stores.

Earlier this year, the dealer expanded its presence in New England with the opening of a new location in East Harford, Conn.

The dealer also operates two Reliable Truss and Components manufacturing locations – its latest recently opening in Branford, Conn. Additionally, the National Lumber Family of Companies includes National Millwork, with a distribution facility and state-of-the-art custom millwork shop in Mansfield, Mass.
