MiraTEC makes a smooth move

MiraTEC has introduced a new line of exterior trim featuring a completely smooth surface -- as well as added durability.

MiraTEC Smooth Select uses a proprietary technology to make it nine times more durable than hardboard/fiber or OSB trim, says the company.

A special manufacturing process creates a solid board with uniform properties for consistent performance.

“This new trim represents best-in-class for both performance and style,” said Peggie Bolan, VP and general manager, Building Products for JELD-WEN, the manufacturer of MiraTEC trim. “We went to great lengths to create a more highly engineered product that offers durability and beauty, and that will truly stand the test of time.”

The trim is resistant to moisture, rot, termites, warping, splitting and cracking. It's also easy to handle, machine, cut and nail.

Made from sustainable materials, MiraTEC Smooth Select is also primed with an ultra-low VOC white primer that contains a mildewcide.

MiraTEC is also free of silica, a known carcinogen, has no added urea-formaldehyde and complies with CARB.
