Menards plans store in Virginia, Minn.

Menards has purchased 13 acres in Virginia, Minn. and plans to build a new store there by 2010, according to local news reports.

The new location is expected to provide about 150 jobs. Virginia is located in rural northern Minnesota, north of Duluth, Minn.

The store is expected to be around 200,000 square feet, with a 170,000-square-foot store and 30- to 40-square-foot outdoor space.

Menards has about 210 stores in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.
