McCoy’s names new vice president, general counsel
McCoy’s Building Supply has appointed Bane Phillippi as vice president and general counsel.
Phillippi had previously served as the company’s general counsel since August 2017.
“Bane has contributed so much to the company since joining us less than a year ago,” said Kent Williams, vp of human resources and people development. “His legal advice and expertise has helped us resolve problems before they’ve had the chance to compound.”
Phillippi, a graduate of Texas A&M University and Baylor University School of Law, has more than 18 years of experience in transactional, regulatory compliance, and litigation matters.
“At McCoy’s, it’s about the people and I’m excited to join a dedicated group of leaders that understands that,” said Phillippi. “I look forward to fostering the company’s legal, risk, and regulatory compliance capabilities.”
In his new role, Phillippi will be responsible for all facets of McCoy’s Legal and Risk Departments and will serve as a member of the executive team.
“Our significant growth in recent years created the need for this new position and we have quickly come to appreciate Bane’s leadership and judgment on key issues at McCoy’s,” said Brian McCoy, president and CEO of McCoy’s. “His position as Vice President and General Counsel and a member of our Executive Team will allow his influence to be felt across our entire company.”
McCoy’s Building Supply is one of the nation’s largest privately held pro dealers and farm and ranch suppliers. San Marcos, Texas-based company employs more than 2,500 people and operates 88 stores, two distribution facilities, and two millwork facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi and New Mexico.
