McCoy’s names new vice president
McCoy’s Building Supply, the San Marcos, Texas-based pro dealer and farm and ranch supplier, has named Joshua Whitley as vice president of accounting and controller.
Whitley, who previously served as the dealer’s controller since August 2017, is an 18-year veteran of the company who began his career at McCoy’s while still attending Texas State University.
Over the years, Whitley has been instrumental in the addition of many procedural efficiencies at McCoy’s including automation of a three-way match system, improvements to the company’s content management software, p-card processing, and the and automation of sales tax information, McCoy’s said.
“I’ve watched Josh mature over the past 18 years. I’m so proud of him and excited for the impact he’s going to make in our company in the years ahead,” said Rick Neal, senior vp and chief financial officer. “He’s a home-grown leader who understands our systems. More importantly, he understands how important our customers and employees are to McCoy’s.”
“I’ve learned so much from my financial mentors at McCoy’s about strategic planning. Everything from preparing for and responding to the economic impacts on the company to evaluating and automating business processes in order to improve efficiency, accountability, and performance,” said Whitley. “I look forward to my involvement and support of McCoy’s strategic plan for the years to come.”
McCoy’s operates 87 stores, 3 distribution facilities and 2 millwork facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi and New Mexico.
