McCoy’s names new SVP of operations and merchandising
McCoy’s Building Supply, the San Marcos, Texas-based pro dealer and ranch supply retailer, has promoted Waylon Walker to the position of senior vice president of operations and merchandising.
Walker is a 25-year McCoy’s veteran, beginning his career as a management trainee and working as assistant store manager, loss prevention team member, store manager, regional manager, and most recently as vice president of operations.
“Waylon is a proven, people-centered leader. He has the skill, vision and drive to help McCoy’s stay strong and growing,” Brian McCoy, McCoy’s president and CEO, said in a statement. “His promotion is a continued part of our ongoing Next Generation plan for the future.”
In his new role, Walker will oversee all aspects of the merchandising, sales and customer service at the company’s 87 stores, the company said.
“McCoy’s is a one-of-a-kind company. I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to lead our Operation and Merchandising teams as we build on the solid foundation established by so many before us,” Walker said. “Integrity and ingenuity will be paramount as we serve our customers and work with our vendor partners.”
“We’re a strong team with Waylon’s leadership,” said Meagan McCoy Jones, executive vice president and chief operating officer. “He enjoys working on long-term strategy and also understands the details of how our business works and how it can grow. I’m so grateful we get to work closely together.”
McCoy's operates 87 retail building supply locations with full service lumberyards in five states, including Arkansas, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
