McCoy’s manager moves in New Mexico and Texas
McCoy’s Building Supply has announced a pair of store manager appointments.
Moses Sambrano has been named manager of the pro dealer’s Hobbs, N.M. location.
Sambrano joined McCoy’s in 2014 as a part of the yard crew and was quickly promoted to yard leader. In 2017, he enrolled in McCoy’s Management Development Program and upon completing the program became assistant manager in Hobbs.
“I’ve lived in Hobbs most of my life and am excited to take this next step in my career while serving our community,” said Sambrano. “We’ve got a strong team here ready to provide outstanding customer service day in and day out.”
“I’ve really enjoyed watching Moses grow as a leader over the past five years. He’s always been passionate about the Hobbs market and its people,” said McCoy’s Regional Manager Kevin McKeown. “I’m excited for the impact he’s going to be able to make managing the store.”
McCoy’s has also announced the appointment of Mike Wauson as store manager of its Corpus Christi, Texas.
Wauson is a 28-year veteran of McCoy’s Building Supply. He started his career in Eagle Pass, Texas, working as a yard employee before moving inside to the sales floor. Wauson’s first management position was as assistant manager of the company’s Rosenberg, Texas, location in the early 90s. He went on to serve as assistant manager and manager at McCoy’s stores in El Paso and Del Rio. Eventually, Wauson returned to Eagle Pass and had managed that store since 2010.
“Our team is always focused on the opportunities we have to develop relationships with our customers and to help them achieve their building goals,” said Wauson. “I’m excited to work with this great crew that has been doing things the right way for a long time. I’m here to support them and keep that momentum going.”
Regional Manager Matt Ramos said, “Mike made significant contributions to the Eagle Pass store during his years there and left behind a great legacy. I’m so excited to welcome him to the coast and to work alongside him.”
McCoy’s Building Supply is based in San Marcos, Texas. The privately-held company employs 2,500 people and operates 88 stores, 3 distribution facilities and 2 millwork facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi and New Mexico.
