Marvin’s to open fourth new location this year
Marvin’s Building Materials and Home Centers announced that construction will soon be underway on a new store in Thomasville, Ala., that is expected to open in November.
The new Marvin’s, which is being built on a vacant former Goody’s site, will feature a 41,000-sq.-ft. home center with an attached lawn and garden center and drive-through lumberyard. Departments will include building materials, electrical, plumbing, paint, millwork, hardware, tools and lawn and garden. Marvin’s plans to hire 25 or more associates to work in the new store.
“We like to hire friendly people from the community,” said Boyden Moore, president and CEO of Marvin’s. “All of our stores have a hometown feel.”
The Thomasville store will be the fourth new location Marvin’s has opened in 2009. A store in Summerville, Ala., held its grand opening Aug. 7. The Leeds, Ala.-based company currently operates 26 stores in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and Florida.
