Lumber Liquidators promotes value options for DIYers
Planning for home improvement projects usually starts from the ground up -- literally, the question of how to replace the old carpets or floorboards. But as budgets continue to tighten, some homeowners may be thinking of putting their projects on hold, especially the ones with the bigger ticket items, like new floor installations.
Recognizing these concerns, Lumber Liquidators has created a variety of DIY floor replacement options designed to give homeowners the new look they want at a price that’s affordable -- between $1,000 and $2,500. The DIY options include Brazilian cherry wood, handscraped planks and natural bamboo.
The move reflects the value-oriented marketing strategies in place at big-box retailers Home Depot and Lowe's.
The bamboo product, in addition to being an affordable option, gives eco-conscious customers the opportunity to work hands-on with one of the most popular sustainable materials in flooring.
“We’re at an age where consumers are becoming more concerned about what they put in their bodies, and in their homes,” said Tom Sullivan, founder and chairman of Lumber Liquidators. “At Lumber Liquidators we’ve recognized this and have strived to increase the availability of sustainable products like bamboo and cork floors. Of course, just because there are popular items, it doesn’t mean you’ll pay through the nose. Our goal is to keep our costs down and our prices low.”
