Lumber Liquidators hires OSH president as new COO
Hardwood flooring retailer Lumber Liquidators has announced the appointment of Robert Lynch as president and chief operating officer. He will oversee the company's merchandising, supply chain and store operations, including the respective senior VPs of these areas. Lynch, who starts his new position on Jan. 17, 2011, will report directly to CEO Jeffrey Griffiths.
Lynch most recently served as president and CEO of Orchard Supply Hardware, an 89-unit chain of hardware stores in California. Prior to that, Lynch worked at The Home Depot in various store operations and business development positions. Lynch has also held positions at Accenture Consulting and at Ernst & Young. Lynch began his career with Walmart Stores.
Orchard Supply Hardware has “engaged a national search firm to commence a search for a new president and CEO,” according to a press release issued by the company on Dec. 20. In the interim, Allen Ravas, the former CFO of Sears Canada, has joined Orchard Supply Hardware as chief administrative officer and will also serve on the board of directors.
Based in Toano, Va., Lumber Liquidators operates 215 stores in the United States.
