LP launches Structural Solutions portfolio
LP WeatherLogic Water Screen maximizes the moisture protection of a home and potentially extends the life of the exterior surfaces.
LP Building Solutions has launched LP Structural Solutions, a branded portfolio of framing and sheathing products technologically engineered to combat the resiliency demands of different geographical markets.
Included in this portfolio is the newest resiliency-driven product: LP WeatherLogic Water Screen.
LP said that it is focusing more of the business to develop and market higher grade, more valuable products. Examples include its TechShield Radiant Barrier, Legacy Premium Sub-Flooring, LP FlameBlock Fire-Rated Sheathing and the WeatherLogic Air and Water Barrier.
All of these technologies are built with LP OSB engineered wood and provide an additional level of resiliency for a specific need.
“The LP Structural Solutions portfolio is charting a new path for how we focus, how we innovate and how we go to market, which allows for speed of innovation,” said Craig Miles, LP business marketing manager for OSB/EWP. “Within the LP Structural Solutions portfolio, we are designing new products and positioning existing products with a singular goal in mind: Help the industry work toward better, more resilient homes to help stand up to whatever nature can throw at it. One example is moisture, which is a challenge both on the job site and ongoing post-completion.”
The LP WeatherLogic brand of moisture-management products launched in early 2019 with an integrated water-resistive barrier system.
LP WeatherLogic Water Screen is available as a synthetic polymer-based screen that can be used with OSB and a WRB house wrap or in conjunction with an integrated panel, like LP WeatherLogic Air & Water Barrier, to maximize the moisture protection of a home and potentially extend the life of the exterior surfaces by adding increased ventilation and drainage.
The product is a lightweight, easy-to-install and mold-resistive screen that works well with all other LP structural products. It also comes with a 25-year warranty.
“As an industry, we know that moisture management is a challenge, and we will continue to engineer technological solutions to help address it,” said Casey Smyth, LP marketing product manager. “LP WeatherLogic Water Screen is an example of how we are looking at resiliency challenges through an integrated suite of offerings that work holistically through our LP Structural Solutions portfolio of engineered products designed to meet specific, regionally-based resiliency needs.”
LP WeatherLogic Water Screen will be available to order in January 2020.
