Lowe's welcomes online affiliates

2/15/2018

Mooresville, N.C. -based Lowe’s is aggressively courting online affiliates. The company announced an invitation to small businesses participating in online retailer affiliate programs.

“Lowe’s is committed to the communities where we do business,” said Gihad Jawhar, VP of Lowes.com. “We sincerely hope businesses will consider Lowe’s as a partner.”

Lowe’s program supports small businesses that refer online consumers to Lowe’s products for a fee. Affiliates interested in applying to work with Lowes.com should follow the directions posted here.

In a press release, Lowe’s said it also supports online retail tax fairness legislation and commends Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn on signing e-fairness legislation into law with hopes it will be adopted throughout the country. Lowe’s believes a change in the law could help communities with an increased tax base and create a fair environment for all retailers, the company said.

In light of e-fairness legislation, some online-only retailers have indicated they will terminate their relationship with affiliates in states enacting the legislation, a move that could put thousands of small businesses at risk. Lowe’s says it currently collects and remits sales tax for all retail operations, including Lowes.com.
