Lowe’s plans a national day of hiring
In January, Lowe’s announced plans for a massive hiring effort – 65,000 employees. Now comes the nitty gritty – recruiting 50,000 seasonal team members.
The company will host a national hiring day on Feb. 13. Wanted are 50,000 full-time, part-time and seasonal store associates. According to Jennifer Weber, Lowe’s executive VP of human resources, nearly 40% of last year’s class of seasonal hires transitioned into permanent part-time or full-time positions.
The company also released a list that estimated the number of available positions in each of its major markets. Here are the top ten:
Philadelphia: 1,860
New York: 1,740
Washington, D.C.: 1,320
Dallas-Fort Worth: 1,250
Indianapolis: 950
Seattle-Tacoma: 865
Pittsburgh: 855
Raleigh-Durham: 850
Boston and area: 815
Atlanta: 750
