Lowe’s associates provide severe weather assistance
Lowe’s said that its associates have been assisting communities in South that were impacted by recent storms, including tornados.
Along with dealing with the COVID-19 crisis, severe weather destroyed hundreds of homes and businesses across multiple states. Cleanup efforts have been impacted by social distancing guidelines.
In Tennessee, a dozen associates from a Chattanooga Lowe’s delivered 350 boxed lunches to first responders. The volunteers also delivered 650 boxed lunches to a local YMCA, where National Guard members went into communities impacted by the recent tornado. Four boxed lunches and bottled waters were placed into individual Lowe’s buckets for delivery to families
In South Carolina, 25 red vest associates from six stores representing Charleston, Goose Creek, Summerville, Beaufort, Orangeburg and Bluffton banded together to support hard-hit communities with critical supplies.
The group delivered donated supplies including chainsaws, rakes, gloves, trash bags, generators, water and more.
“Heroes come in all walks of life and today they wear red vests,” said Lowe’s District Manager Wesley Champion. “It’s a pleasure to be able to jump in and support our communities. We are very proud to work for a company that allows us to make an impact in the communities in which we serve and live.”
