Lowe’s adds transportation software

Lowe’s is in the final phases of upgrading its Transportation & Logistics Management solutions from JDA Software, of Scottsdale, Ariz., a project it began in order to support its growing import business.

In these last steps, Lowe’s is completing the regional rollouts of the solution in China, a move that will synchronize international transportation business operations. The platform is already operational in the United States, Southeast Asia, India, Israel, Europe and South America.

Once the technology is completely functional, Lowe’s will minimize the time needed to complete a bid for transportation services; provide ongoing contract management; and interact with carriers, in near real-time, regarding booking, sailing schedules and status messaging.
