Looking ahead to 2020
Market research firm The Freedonia Group has looked into the future and sees a general picture of growth for the home improvement products industry.
Some segments, are more likely to grow faster than others. For insance: plastic and composite lumber.
According to the researchers at Freedonia, plastic lumber is expected to grow at a 6.9% annual rate through 2020, bringing the size of the market to $5.9 billion. Growth will be spurred by better loooking capstock-coated WPC and cellual PVC lumber, supposedly.
Behind the wall plumbing is expected to grow at a 6.5% clip through 2020, as home owners and business owners turn to larger bathrooms.
Cabinets are expected to be a $17.3 billion industry by the year 2019, according to Freedonia.
