Leviton opens office in Dubai
Leviton Manufacturing, the Little Neck, N.Y.-based manufacturer of electrical devices and lighting systems, has announced the opening of an office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The 2,000-square-foot office is located in Jebel Ali’s landmark towers in Dubai’s free zone and will house a staff of Leviton sales, technical and administrative professionals.
The company’s entry into the Middle Eastern market is part of a five-year goal to begin manufacturing in the region, according to the announcement. Plans call for sales growth in Leviton’s commercial networking devices, commercial and industrial products, lighting management systems and residential structured cabling products.
Ramzi Nassif, a former sales executive with 3M Gulf and now a managing director at Leviton, will spearhead the company’s entry into the Mideast market. Leviton currently generates 15 percent of its annual revenue from its international operations and has recently opened offices in Europe and Asia. The company has manufacturing plants in Mexico, China and the United States, in addition to sales and administrative offices in Mexico, Latin America and Canada.
