LBM Expo set for Boston

1/31/2020
The Northeastern Retail Lumber Association (NRLA) is ready to host its 126th LBM Expo.

Set for Feb. 5-7 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, “Experience the Future” is the theme of the event.

“We look forward to being back in Boston for our annual tradeshow,” said Rita Ferris, president of the NRLA. “With our focus being ‘Experience the Future,’ and several exciting new changes that bring this theme to fruition, we know it’s going to be a valuable event for our retailers, their customers, and our exhibitors.”

The NRLA said LBM Expo will help lumber and building materials professionals experience the future with hands-on demos and sneak peeks at the technology that will soon be disrupting the industry.

On Feb. 5, LBM Expo launches with an opening session at by Zach Williams, founder and CEO of LBM marketing platform Venveo. Williams will discuss the advantages e-commerce can bring an LBM business.

About 170 vendors and exhibitors will be on hand when the show floor opens at 10 a.m. The association said that it is expecting several thousand attendees.

In addition to the exhibits and interactive in-booth demos, LBM Expo will have three demo zones running over the course of the two days, educating attendees in a variety of topics regarding best building practices, how to prevent callbacks, and the future of the LBM industry.

There will also be a Featured Products Pavilion during show floor hours that displays the latest products offered by LBM associates. Attendees are encouraged to browse the unique offerings and vote on which product they feel is best.

Education and exhibitions will continue on Feb. 6.  Business Connect, an innovative networking event that brings retail attendees together with exhibitors one-on-one, will begin at 10:30 a.m.; and the Students and Veterans Industry Recruitment Panel Discussion and Job Fair, hosting hundreds of students, will start at 12:30 p.m.

“The Big Event,” as billed by the NRLA, will kick-off Thursday evening, starting with a cocktail reception and dinner, followed by a performance by America’s Got Talent finalist and mentalist Oz Pearlman.
