Kodiak acquires Medallion Industries
Kodiak Building Partners announced Thursday that it acquired Portland, Ore.-based Medallion Industries in early February. Medallion is a distributor of windows, interior & exterior doors, glass wall systems, hardware, and stair parts and operates facilities in Portland, Bend, Ore. And Livermore, Calif.
Medallion was founded by Norm Tschida in 1971 and most recently owned by its senior management team including President Tim Mahaffy, COO and Senior VP Julie Nix, VP Mike Mahaffy, and CFO Roger Ernst. All four executives will continue to lead Medallion Industries, as it joins the General Lumber Group at Kodiak Building Partners under the leadership of Pat and Mike Flood.
Kodiak’s President and CEO, Steve Swinney described Medallion as a perfect fit for the Kodiak family, and a move that complements its presence in the Northwest, which includes Builders Alliance and Frontier Building Supply.

Michael Collins, a partner with Building Industry Advisors, was the exclusive advisor to Medallion Industries, Inc.
Kodiak Building Partners now operates 80 locations in 15 states. In October, the company acquired Wyoming pro dealer Jenkins Lumber.
