Kodiak acquires Jenkins Lumber

10/1/2019
Kodiak Building Partners acquired Jenkins Lumber & Hardware, a pro-oriented lumber and building materials dealer based in Alpine, Wyo.

Founded in 1975, Jenkins is an LMC member that caters to single-family home builders as well as commercial contractors in the resort areas of Jackson, Wyo., Swan Valley, Idaho, Afton, Wyo., and many communities along the valley. President Dave Jenkins will remain on board as both president of Jenkins, and as part of the ownership group of Kodiak. “I look forward to having additional peers to lean on and bounce ideas off of from time to time," he said. "We at Jenkins have been successful on our own but fully expect to flourish even further under the Kodiak umbrella.”

Kodiak’s CEO, Steve Swinney, pointed to an expanded geographic footprint into Wyoming with a deep-rooted and respected lumberyard. “Jenkins Lumber and Hardware will be a valued addition to our family," said Swinney. "Dave and his team are known for their dependability and always fulfilling promises to their customers.  Their culture is a perfect fit with the way that we do business, and we look forward to supporting all that they do.  Further, we think the Wyoming markets that Jenkins serves will continue to remain strong to quite strong for a long time.”

Larry Morgan of Mountain States Acquisitions LLC was the exclusive advisor to Jenkins Lumber.

Kodiak now operates 78 locations, serving general contractors, homebuilders, sub-contractors, remodelers, and consumers with its operations in Texas, Florida, Colorado, Arizona, Delaware, Massachusetts, Kansas, Michigan, Washington, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, Maryland, and Wyoming.
