Kodiak acquires Builders Millwork
Kodiak Building Partners has acquired Builders Millwork, Inc., effective May 31, in a move that expands the dealer’s presence in the millwork segment.
Builders Millwork is a supplier of custom made architectural and residential wood doors and millwork, finish hardware, and hollow metal doors and frames primarily in upper Midwest markets. The company operates two locations in Mondovi and Hudson, Wis. along with a sales office in St. Cloud, Minn.
Founded in 1975, Builders Millwork will continue to be led by Jerry Jehn who has owned the company since 2002.
Builders Millwork will now be part of the Lumber and Building Materials Group at Kodiak Building Partners under the leadership of Pat and Mike Flood.
“Builders Millwork is a strong and respected player in the upper Midwest markets for custom millwork,” said Steve Swinney, CEO of Kodiak Building Partners. “We are excited to add Jerry’s team to our growing organization, alongside the other LBM operations in the Kodiak family. Expansion of our millwork capabilities is an important component of our growth strategy and the BMI team helps to further our efforts in this segment.”
According to Matt Lascola, Kodiak vp of corporate development, this move represents Kodiak’s entry into the upper Midwest, along with additional expansion into the millwork segment. “We are excited to partner with Jerry and his talented team at BMI to continue their strong record of success and further Kodiak’s geographic expansion,” Lascola said.
Jerry Jehn, owner of Builders Millwork, said that “It has been great getting to know the Kodiak team and understanding their decentralized approach with all of their operating companies. Kodiak's involvement with BMI will provide new opportunities for expansion and continued success. We look forward to working with Kodiak and are confident in a very positive outlook for all parties involved.”
Kodiak operates more than 60 facilities in Texas, Colorado, Arizona, Delaware, Massachusetts, Michigan, Maryland, Minnesota and Wisconsin with a diverse array of products from four segments: Interiors (Specialty, AWS and FBS), Construction Supplies (Barton, Barnsco TX, Barnsco MI, Erect A Line), Lumber and Building Materials (Zarsky Lumber, New England Building Supply, Gulf & Basco, American Building Supply, BMI) and Commercial Drywall (Jones Heartz, DMS, AO, and Freedom Materials).
