Kevin Hancock shares leadership wisdom in 'The Seventh Power'
Hancock Lumber CEO Kevin Hancock has returned with his latest book.
Released today, “The Seventh Power” lays out the framework for a new leadership model designed to strengthen the voices of others and drive workplace engagement.
The story follows Hancock as he embarks on a series of enlightening travel adventures stretching from the Arizona desert to Kiev, Ukraine.
These experiences uncover what the executive comes to describe as “Seven Lessons for the Age of Shared Leadership.” Historically leaders have collected and centralized power and decision-making control. In this book Hancock makes the case that in the twenty-first century, dynamic leadership will be about “flipping that script” in a manner that disperses power and invites everyone to lead.
This is the second book written by Hancock. In 2015, he released “Not for Sale: Finding Center in the Land of Crazy Horse.” The memoir traced Hancock’s trips to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
That journey also provided Hancock with spiritual insight as well as a new philosophy toward the operations at Hancock Lumber. The pro dealer has received six “Best Places to Work in Maine” awards along with being honored as the “Maine Family Business of the Year.”
