KB Home names senior vp-human resources

Home builder KB Home has appointed Thomas Norton senior vp-human resources. He will be responsible for all human resources functions across the company, including compensation, benefits, succession planning, employee development and organizational effectiveness.

Previously, Norton was senior vp and chief human resource officer for BJ's Restaurants, a Huntington Beach, Calif.-based public restaurant company. He also spent more than 14 years with American Golf Corp., where he most recently was senior vp-human resources.

"We are pleased that Tom has joined KB Home as a member of our executive team," said Jeffrey Mezger, president and CEO.

Norton earned a BBA cum laude in human resource management from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA with honors from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business.
