In Chicago, some good places to work
Chicago is well known as a muscular, hardware town. And a couple of the Chicago Tribune’s recent “2019 Top Workplaces” are familiar names in the hardware and building supply industry.
In the number nine spot among large companies was Ace Hardware Corp. And in the no. 46 spot among midsize companies: Hines Supply.
The Chicago media company said it recognized 150 companies and organizations in Chicago as Top Workplaces for 2019. These companies have been recognized based solely on surveys about the workplace completed by their employees.
Hines, a division of US LBM Holdings, employs nearly 350 people throughout Illinois.
“We’re incredibly honored to be recognized by our own people as a Top Workplace in Chicago,” said Hines Supply President Doug Jones. “Hines was founded on a people-first philosophy, and we’re proud that culture continues more than 125 years later.”
The Container Store also appeared on the list, ranked 63rd in the small category.
