Home Depot will carry Olympic stains
The move expands The Home Depot’s relationship with PPG, which includes Glidden paints and Liquid Nail adhesives.
PPG and The Home Depot have expanded their partnership to include Olympic brand stains in all of the retailer’s U.S. locations.
The deal includes Olympic Maximum, Elite, and Waterguard products, which will be available at most Home Depot locations by the end of the second quarter 2018.
In addition, PPG’s new Olympic SmartGuard will be carried at select U.S. Home Depot stores in time for the spring season. The product aims to take the hassle out of weekend projects with a super-concentrated formula in a lightweight, easy-to-handle pouch package. Drying in as little as one hour after application, it provides a durable, super water-resistant seal. Unlike traditional stain products, there is no brushing required – easy spray-on application allows homeowners to spend less time applying and more time enjoying their outdoor living space.
“We’re extremely pleased to expand the breadth of our product line with Olympic stains by PPG to give our customers even more selection, innovation and value,” said Jose Barra, The Home Depot SVP of Merchandising, Décor.
Last February, Lowe’s informed PPG that it will discontinue the sale of Olympic brand paints and stains in its U.S. retail stores, effective mid-2018.
The addition of Olympic stain products expands the PPG product lineup at The Home Depot stores including PPG premium paints, Glidden paints and Liquid Nail adhesives.
“Olympic has been America’s most trusted stain brand since 1938 and is rated among the top stains by a leading independent consumer rankings magazine,” said Dave Cole, PPG vice president, architectural coatings, U.S. and Canada. “We are pleased to grow our partnership with The Home Depot and offer their customers an array of high-quality, well-respected products.”
