Home Depot subsidiary honored as “best” workplace
Global Custom Commerce (GCC), formerly Blinds.com, has been recognized as one of the best companies to work for in Houston by Houston’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For.
The Home Depot-owned company is an online provider of blinds, shades, shutters and draperies across the United States and Canada.
In 2019, GCC was honored with the “Best of the Best” Large Business award, which was given to a company in the large business category, with more than 250 employees.
The awards program, operated by the National Association for Business Resources, recognizes organizations that excel in 10 categories including overall employee education and development, compensation, benefits, work-life balance and diversity.
“Winning the Best of the Best Large Business award means that what we are doing for our associates is appreciated,” says Sharon Scheckter, director of associate engagement at GCC. “Our company purpose and core values aren’t just things we cover in employee orientation. For us, they are at the heart of everything we do.”
