Home Depot scores three “bests” from Consumer Reports

2/20/2018

Three products sold exclusively at Home Depot received “best” ratings in Consumer Reports’ “Best and Worst Home and Yard Products” report in the magazine's May issue.

First up, in the home cleaning category, the top rated wet/dry vacuum was Ridgid’s WD1450. The Home Depot item received an overall score of 83, scoring high points for its efficiency at sucking up nails, bolts and tile shards, according to the report.

In the Spruce-ups and Safety category, Behr Premium Plus Ultra Satin Enamel, which Home Depot touts as a paint and primer all in one, edged out the competition. The article touted Behr’s latest products as having “impressive one-coat hiding and stain resistance, and doesn’t need a primer.”

Also in the compact fluorescent bulbs category, the Atlanta-based retailer's EcoSmart brand 60-watt CFL bulbs were rated 85 overall points in the CFL spirals section. The same Home Depot brand ranked one and two in the CFL indoor flood category.
